Dance “And if Jean de La Fontaine…”, The famous fabulist is haunted by a premonitory nightmare that plunges him into a world he no longer recognizes. As he questions himself, he finds himself in a dreamlike universe facing two ethereal creatures who lead him on an initiatory journey. From then on, La Fontaine travels with them through his fables, confronting them with contemporary challenges where each moral takes on a new resonance. As they advance from fable to fable, La Fontaine reveals his sharp reflections on vanity, greed, and the shortsightedness of man, in the face of current ills.
In a refined setting, in the heart of the magnificent Puygirault Gardens, this play draws the spectator into a conversation as poetic as it is informed, where yesterday's morals become today's warnings. The timeless La Fontaine delivers a final lesson: that of a nature that cannot survive the indifference of those who feed on it.
